We removed over 2500 almond trees. The average life of an almond tree is about 35 years and these were well over 35. Only about 50 almond trees remain. Even so, in the spring white and pink blossoms cover the trees.

  Front and back of barn

The 100 year old barn was repaired and re-roofed by Ken's brother-in-law and Doris and Ken. The barn has 4 horse stalls and 2 tack rooms. It holds the 2 tractors, equipment, and a chicken coop in the back. Behind the barn is a small orchard with apples, pears, cherries, plum, apricot, fig, and 20 pomegranate trees..

We demolished the original bunkhouse and have built a 2 bedroom guest house in its place near the barn. Unfortunately, the lake that was built in 1960 was emptied in 1973 and never refilled. The dam and spillway still exist but the area is overgrown and would require major work that we are not prepared to undertake currently. We are removing many of the dead almond trees and have begun a firewood business. All wood has been sold.

Two views of guest house

Two views of main house The main house, which was constructed in 1967, continues to serve us well with a few modifications.

This shows the house (top), the barn (bottom) and the 2 vineyards we planted. The left vineyard was planted in 2003 and the right 2005.
